Amy was born in New York City. Following her graduation from the University of Wisconsin, she earned a Master’s degree in social work from UNC, and ultimately helped hundreds of children find families through adoption. In addition to her chosen profession, Amy studied printmaking at The New School in Manhattan, and began producing her own line of greeting cards in 1981 using silk screen and collage techniques. Amy is also a writer whose work has appeared in numerous publications, including Newsweek and The New York Times. She lives in South Salem, New York with her husband and two children.
